Abstract Physical inactivity is prevalent among nursing home residents, and it contributes to loss of lower body muscle mass, which raises the risk falling for older adult population. Accumulative evidence shows that engaging in leisure-time physical activity improves functions, mental health, cognitive capacities provides social benefits adults. Taekwondo, a form Korean traditional martial arts, has potential improve health residents United States. Thus, aim this study was explore advantages participation Taekwondo program modified accommodate their conditions. An observational research method incorporated Taekwondo. 10 prospective participants (5 females, 5 males; mean age = 80 years) from local facility participated in-depth semi-structured interviews. The researchers employed Strauss Corbin's (1998) grand-tour mini-tour question strategies, as well Creswell's (2009) five phases data gathering analysis. constant comparative approach utilized analyze study.
